Our rebranding reflects a broadening of our vision to focus on the growth of Newfoundland & Labrador's tech sector beyond just training.

Get Coding is becoming Get Building. This change signifies a new business direction that extends beyond training, aiming to increase our positive impact on Newfoundland & Labrador's tech sector as a whole. Our new name is more than a simple rebranding; it embodies our expanded vision. While our Software Development Coaching Program remains unchanged, we're adapting to shifts in the tech landscape. Globally, there's been a slowdown in funding for tech companies and fewer fully remote jobs, especially at the junior level. Locally, we've seen fewer new startups being created, leading to a lack of new opportunities.

This situation presents an opportunity for us to contribute more to the ecosystem, where we are not only helping people switch careers and become software developers but also enabling a new generation of builders and entrepreneurs to shape the future of NL's tech sector.

Training
Get Building will continue running its successful Software Development Coaching Program, which has a 90%+ success rate of students finding jobs in tech within 12 months. Additionally, we will introduce more relevant tech-focused training in the near future.

Beyond Training
One of the challenges we see in the NL ecosystem is the lack of a grassroots tech community. People who may not have a startup but have a builder's mindset lack places to gather and meet like-minded individuals. Therefore, we are on a mission to connect them and foster the community of builders in NL. We have already initiated this with a few community-focused events, such as Show & Tell and Off the Record, which have proven to be valuable—leading to new connections, hires, internships, and more. And while we're not ready to share more details yet, we have several exciting projects in the works that will accelerate the next generation of tech in NL.
